The results of the International Workshop. Florence (Italy)

From 28 to 31 October 2008 took place in Florence the International Workshop on Innovation and Development in Health: Integration of Complementary and Traditional Medicine in Public Health Systems. The seminar, organized jointly by the Tuscany Region and UNDP-UNOPS in the framework of the ART Initiative and the IDEASS Program, has involved representatives from the Ministries of Health and professionals from Afghanistan, Albania, South Africa, Germany, Austria, Bolivia, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Gabon, Guatemala, India, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Dominican Republic, Serbia, Syria, Sri Lanka, Switzerland and Venezuela. Also representatives of WHO, UNDP, UNIFEM, UNEP and UNOPS and of the numerous international organizations and decentralized cooperation have participated to the event. Throughout intense days of work, the seminar has allowed an important exchange of experiences among countries and participating actors and a joint elaboration of the final declaration.
